Structure of Dance Class

The structure of a dance class is in general established by a given method or traditional well-known procedure.
In particular, the technical formative dance education has a programmed class structure that is reasonable through the created and repeated exercises.

All those techniques independently from its style have something in common, apply certain practical, reasonable and necessary structural movement aspects.

The classes are structured from:
-Smaller amounts to extensive amounts-
-Simple to Complex coordination-
-Exercises on the spot to travelling exercises-
-Slow to Fast

Classes that follow a different formula should take in account the positive, practical and supportive characteristics of a class structure.

1) A structure is considered  a skeleton, that supports and carries the class

2) It functions as a guide through the course of the class

3) A structure is not considered rigid or
immobile in its development but variable and dynamic

4) Helps to organize and plan and systematize the work and the idea of the class

5) Functions from less to more, simple to complex, basic abilities are developed into complex skills

6) The development of the structure stays in close relation to the necessities and technical abilities of the participant.
