The Attitude to Gravity
As Laban states it in a dualistic manner, do we either fight and resist the “events” of life or we give in. What is described as events is everything that happens in our daily physical and emotional existence.
Each, doesn’t matter how little, action can be analysed under these two viewpoints, resisting - giving in
Relation of
Muscular Force - Weight - Gravity
Giving in Gravity
Body weight gives in either gradual or entirely to gravity by reducing or lack of muscular force.
Fighting Gravity
The body forcefully resists and fights the pull of gravity. The muscular force pulls one section of the body away from gravity into space while simultaneously another body section pushes down against gravity.
Verry often double Tension appears in the body
Denying Gravity
One takes a verry light and weightlessness attitude towards its own body weight.
As if gravity would not exist and there wouldn’t be either a pull down.
Sneaking through a room, avoiding noises.
Walking over a breakable surface of ice.
Winning Gravity
The body frees himself from the pull of gravity by its power and muscular force. He overcomes gravity for one moment moving himself away from the ground upward towards the sky until he is pulled down again.
Using Gravity
The muscular force goes behind the body weight moving down strongly into gravity.
