Theme 3
Equilibrium
We can observe three different types of Balance.
Stable Balance
The Equilibrium is considered stable, when the body weight is aligned directly vertical over the body weight carriers, the supports.
Unstable Balance
The equilibrium is considered unstable, when the body weight moves towards the border of the weight carrier.
Lability
One considers to be in a labile state, when the body weight passes over the border of the weight carrier.
The body would fall and could recover a stable balance or
keeps falling and “continuously changing the balance through the use of oblique directions rather than the vertical”
